This place is pure magic! If you are visiting the Brooklyn Museum or exploring the Brooklyn Botanic Garden right next door, you absolutely cannot skip the main garden shop located right near the Washington Avenue entrance. Honestly, even if you aren't exploring the museum or the main grounds, the shop itself is entirely worth the trip. The moment you cross the threshold, the entire store feels like stepping straight into a fairytale. The atmosphere hits you instantly. It smells absolutely amazing, a beautiful, comforting mix of fresh earthy soil, premium botanical soaps, and high-end seasonal candles. The decor and visual merchandising are fantastic. They have styled the historic, sunlit space beautifully, blending the lush, wild vibes of the outdoor gardens with an elevated, rustic aesthetic. It feels less like a traditional gift shop and more like a curated sanctuary for nature lovers. The selection of plants and accessories is truly unmatched. For indoor plant parents, they offer an incredible array of healthy, vibrant houseplants, ranging from beginner friendly pothos to rare, hard to find succulents and tropicals. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is spectacular even in the winter for the Lightscape display. The drama of the light sculptures and ambient lighting was enhanced further this night with a few snow squalls and dramatically cloudy sky, lit by a full moon.
